LEASH Animal Rescue

A 501(c)3 non-profit animal rescue organization specializing in special needs, neonate, and medical case kittens/cats.

Our Mission

LEASH Animal Rescue is a no-kill, foster based, 501(c)3 non-profit animal rescue organization run solely by volunteers and is located in Southern California. We founded in 2007 and currently specialize in special needs, neonate, and medical case kittens/cats. Our efforts focus mainly on paralyzed, incontinent, neurological, and other specially-abled cases. We mostly rescue kittens/cats from our local high-kill animal shelters, but we do accept owner surrenders on a case-by-case basis. More often than not, the kittens/cats who come into our rescue are overlooked by members of the public and other rescue organizations, due to their special needs and the little extra attention/care they can require. Our rescue provides these deserving felines the love and comfort they deserve, while accepting them for who they are and giving them the best chance possible for happy, healthy lives!

About Our Rescue

  • Potential adopters should email our rescue at leashanimalrescue@yahoo.com to inquire regarding the availability of the particular kitten/cat they are interest in.

Our adoption process consists of the following steps:

    1) Completed and approved adoption application

    2) Successful meet-and-greet

    3) In-person housecheck

    4) Signed adoption contract

    5) $200 adoption donation

    All adoptions include:

    *up-to-date on vaccinations

    *microchipped

    *spayed/neutered

*Please note that we only adopt out to the Southern California area. We do not adopt on a first-come-first-serve basis, but we work carefully to find the best home for each particular kitten/cat based off their personality, individual likes/needs, etc.*

  • Donations are tax-deductible and 100% of all donations we receive go directly to the animals in our care. Veterinary bills (routine, emergency, and specialty) and food bills are the majority of expenses in our rescue, but we also incur various other expenses such as litter, supplements, toys/enrichment, etc., on an ongoing basis.

Not only do we intake special needs cases who have ongoing, expensive medical bills, but we also intake major medical cases that easily run into $2,000-$10,000 per animal for emergency and specialty care. Your donations help us get them the urgent, life saving care they desperately need.

  • At this time we are most in need of volunteers to assist in our fundraising efforts! We cannot continue to save the lives we do without financial support and funding for our never-ending medical bills, food bills, and other expenses.

  • We are currently rescue partners with Los Angeles Animal Services, Long Beach Animal Services, Orange County Animal Care, and Riverside County Department of Animal Services. These partnerships allow us access to up-to-date lists of animals most in need of rescue and the ability to pull them to safety to begin their medical care and rehabilitation.
